Alka is a naturally talented person and a nomad by nature. She likes to travel extensively. She listens intently to folklores of places, believing them to be true.

For her, the world is a beautiful place, where she keeps her home as a cozy nest full of hospitality, preparing delicious meals and offering these with a caring attitude.

Organic gardening is yet another passion of hers.

She is a firm believer in theory of karma and meditation. Reiki has been her way of life for quite some time. Writings of great master Shri Paramhansa Yogananda immensely inspire her.

An avid reader, she has written in the past for newspaper and magazines. She is adept with both English and Hindi and has flair for writing in verse as well as prose. She has a special talent for extempore compositions relating to a given situation.

She is also an artist, her domain being, painting on canvas. This provides her with a unique faculty of visualizing in three dimensions.

Wife of a senior army officer, she has experienced the pains and pleasures of life from close quarters. These have invariably found their way in to this book.
