What If a Few Small Changes in How You Think Could Transform the Way You Experience Life?
Life can feel heavier than it should. The news is overwhelming. Stress seems constant. Negative thoughts arrive uninvited. Yet even in difficult times, some people manage to find peace, purpose, and joy. The Kindness & Gratitude Effect explores why and shows how simple shifts in attention can change the quality of your daily life.
Many people spend years chasing happiness through achievement, possessions, productivity, or circumstances they cannot control. They wait for life to improve before allowing themselves to feel grateful. They compare themselves to others, dwell on setbacks, and unknowingly train their minds to focus on what is missing rather than what is present.
The result is frustration, anxiety, and a lingering sense that something important is slipping away.
This book offers a different approach.
Drawing from personal stories, practical wisdom, and insights from psychology and neuroscience, James A. Truett explores the ideas readers seek in books on gratitude and books on kindness, showing how these simple practices can build resilience, strengthen relationships, reduce negativity, and bring more meaning to everyday life.
You will learn how small daily choices can create lasting positive change, helping you experience greater peace, appreciation, and emotional well-being, even when you cannot change your circumstances.
What You'll Discover Inside
Who This Book Is For
This book is for readers who want more than temporary motivation. If you enjoy thoughtful, uplifting books about personal growth, happiness, gratitude, and living with greater intention, you'll feel at home here.
A Thoughtful, Practical Approach
Rather than offering a rigid self-help system or quick-fix life hacks, The Kindness & Gratitude Effect focuses on lasting shifts in perspective through reflection, awareness, and meaningful daily practice.
You don't have to wait for everything in your life to be perfect before appreciating what is already good. You can begin with small choices: where you place your attention, how you respond to other people, what you notice, and what you choose to appreciate.
The world may not change overnight, but your experience of it can.
If you're ready for more gratitude, more kindness, greater peace, and a renewed appreciation for the life already around you, The Kindness & Gratitude Effect offers an uplifting and practical place to begin.

James A. Truett is an artist, photographer, author, and former Associated Press journalist whose work explores the connection between beauty, perspective, and everyday life. After more than five decades behind the camera, his images have been exhibited internationally, while his books have introduced readers to Ireland's landscapes, history, and quieter moments of reflection.Best known for the Mystical Moods of Ireland series and his nature-inspired fine art, James believes that what we choose to notice shapes the way we experience the world. That belief became the foundation for The Kindness & Gratitude Effect, a book that examines how small shifts in attention can influence resilience, relationships, and personal well-being.When he isn't writing or creating artwork, he can often be found exploring back roads, rivers, and coastlines in search of overlooked moments of beauty. He currently lives in County Clare, Ireland, where he is developing new books, exhibitions, and multimedia art projects.
