Publishers note: This book is a larger recreation of an exceedingly limited edition of a miniature book created by the author Barbara Sayre Harmon circa 1970. The text pages were assembled in movable type and printed on a Chandler & Price letter press, a sheet at a time. Then the images, having been imaged onto 150 screen zinc plates, were printed, then hand colored, trimmed and affixed to the pages as color plates. The book was then hand bound. It measured about 3.6 by 4.6 inches. It was offered in a white padded box with a cover picture which is shown in the new version as the back cover illustration. This recreated version doubles the size of the images and text and is printed on demand at 6 by 9 inches. For the best image fidelity, the images have been recreated using the original pencil artwork, showing the exquisite detail of the originals to their best advantage. Then the hand coloring is scanned from an original edition was incorporated into each image. A brief description of this with sample pencil sketches and images is included in the last two pages.
