Synopsis

Print English is a Texas cattleman bent on building a longhorn empire. First the Civil War interrupts his dream, then feisty, auburn-haired Julie Denton decides that God intends her to be the woman who shares Print’s life. Julie convinces Print to marry her, but his headstrong ambitions precipitate a crisis with organized cattle rustlers. Then a crazed thief who has murdered one girl sets his sights on Julie. In a time of lawlessness, how will Print and Julie find justice?

À propos des auteurs

Marilyn was born and reared in cattle country. She wanted no part of the life of a rancher's wife. No saddle sores and feeding hungry cowboys in the middle of dusty pastures. She would read, research, and write. She married-a rancher, of course-but she taught school, surrounded by sweet children and books. Cheryl's mother was her co-teacher and closest friend. Marilyn collected history and wrote for historical magazines and journals for sixteen years until the day her rancher said he needed her with him more than they needed a paycheck. She finally earned her spurs. Now a widow, she again collects history and writes historical fiction about inspired women of the southwest.

A true blue Texas girl, Cheryl lives in the serenity of the hill country near Austin. The good life there allowed her the opportunity to play an active role in nurturing the love of history, reading and writing in the many children she taught. For Cheryl the best part of writing inspirational historical fiction with Marilyn is the anticipation of what is to come-standing beside women from another era who meet the challenges of a complicated life journey by discovering the joy of living close to God. Along with the blessings of three sons came three beautiful women who have touched her life. Cheryl and her husband especially delight in spending time with their three, precious grandchildren and their three, spirited granddogs. It does her soul good to be surrounded by the laughter of loved ones, an empty plate of southern home-cooking, and perfectly orchestrated words on a page powerful enough to transform the way we see the world.
