Synopsis
Chicago in Color offre une nouvelle perspective minimaliste et colorée de Chicago. En 2019, la photographe Judit Prat Martí a quitté sa ville natale de Terrassa, près de Barcelone, et s’est installée à Chicago pour accepter un poste au sein du département d’astronomie et d’astrophysique de l’université de Chicago. Dès son arrivée à Chicago, elle s’est efforcée d’explorer et de comprendre la ville sous tous ses aspects par le biais de la photographie. Chicago in Color est le résultat de cette exploration et une lettre d’amour à Chicago et aux personnes qu’elle y a rencontrées. Le livre présente une nouvelle collection de photographies prises dans 32 quartiers différents, dont 17 quartiers du South Side. Chaque photo a été éditée avec art pour mettre en valeur une couleur ou une combinaison de couleurs spécifique, offrant une nouvelle faon de voir la ville qui inspirera les lecteurs à apprécier la beauté des petites choses qui sont présentes dans tous les quartiers de Chicago.

À propos de l'auteur
Judit Prat Martí has always loved taking pictures. Originally from outside Barcelona, Judit started taking classes at Richard Stromberg's Chicago Photography Classes school while a Postdoctoral fellow at the Astronomy and Astrophysics department at the University of Chicago. Judit loves how photography encouraged her to explore her new home of Chicago, exploring and getting to know the city and its various neighborhoods. Many Sundays, she would take her bike and her camera, and choose a neighborhood to explore, photographing everything that would catch her eye. Judit's studies have since taken her to Stockholm, where she is looking forward to exploring a new city and continuing to capture the magic with her camera.
