Synopsis

A funny bedtime story about responsibility, independence, and one very lazy little bug!

Bug has perfected the art of doing absolutely nothing.

He does not get dressed. He does not prepare his own food. He does not want to go to school. Why bother when his parents are always there to do everything for him?

But one morning, Bug’s parents decide it is time for him to take care of himself.

Suddenly, Bug must figure out how to get ready, find something to eat, and make it through the day without anyone rushing in to help. At first, doing things on his own feels impossible. Soon, however, Bug discovers something surprising: learning new skills can be fun, and being independent feels pretty great.

It’s Not Easy Being a Lazy Bug is a humorous and heartwarming picture book that encourages young children to take responsibility, try new things, and feel proud of what they can accomplish on their own.

Children will enjoy:

  • A silly and lovable main character

  • Bright, colorful illustrations

  • A playful story filled with humor

  • An encouraging message about responsibility

  • A positive introduction to independence and self-reliance

Perfect for children ages 4 to 6, this cheerful story is ideal for bedtime, classroom read-alouds, family story time, and early readers.

It also makes a thoughtful gift for children who are learning to get dressed, complete simple tasks, help at home, or become more confident doing things independently.

Bug may begin the story determined to avoid every responsibility, but by the end, he learns that doing things for himself can be far more rewarding than doing nothing at all.

Scroll up and join Bug on his hilarious journey toward independence!
