Synopsis

It is July of 1915. World War 1 is raging. But for Valia Stepanyan, a 14-year-old Armenian girl, the war is far away. She is content with her prestigious life. Valia lives with her younger brother and their parents in Adana, Turkey. She plans to attend university the following year but her life is suddenly disrupted when she and her family, along with thousands of Armenians throughout Turkey, are deported by the local police soldiers. During the march to what some believe to be a Syrian death camp, a group of Armenians instigate a revolt. Tragedy strikes, and Valia is forced to engage in a deadly struggle to regain her identity and life.
