She has a very instinctual approach, often being so immersed in the illustration that she couldn't say where the inspiration came from. "Most of the time I just do what feels right. But knowing what feels right comes from experience." She has created books for Usbourne, Familius Publishing, Workman Publishing, Éditions Lito, S&S Alliance, and Alfarroba. Elsa lives in Setubal, Portugal with her dog 'Tosta' (Portuguese for Toast!)
