Synopsis
Dans les deux corpus d'œuvres connexes qui forment ce volume, la photographe new-yorkaise Zoe Leonard (née en 1961) pose des questions fondamentales sur la photographie et le regard. Dans une série d'installations à grande échelle, l'artiste a utilisé le principe de la camera obscura, en l'associant à des photographies argentiques du soleil. Les images tirées des caméras obscuras de la taille d'une pièce sont des immersions dans les paysages des villes qu'elles retranscrivent. Elle a reproduit cette installation dans des villes d'Europe et des États-Unis, de Venise et Londres en passant par New York et Marfa.
