Synopsis

This rhyming picture book is for children ages 5-8, grades kindergarten to third grade, but can be enjoyed by children of all ages. This is a rhyming picture book of animals living in the rainforest, and may be used as a guessing game that aids in children’s cognitive and phonetic development. Clues are given about an animal in the rainforest, using rhyming descriptions. After the clues are read, children are shown four pictures of different animals, including the correct plant. Some may guess correctly without seeing the four choices. Base on the simple rhyming clues that are given, children are asked to pick the animal that they believe is being described. Words to reinforce the clues are shaded in colors. Teachers and parents may add their own clues as well. This picture book allows teachers and parents to introduce their students and children to animals that their children may not be familiar with, and to discuss their differences. This rhyming picture book is also a great book to introduce reading to young children.
