Set against the sweeping savannas and deserts of Southern Africa in the mid-80s, Scars of the Leopard follows one man’s struggle to stop a nefarious enemy from plunging the world into complete economic crisis.
Dave Old, a disciplined and highly skilled ex-soldier, is undercover, investigating a ruthless crime lord named Vulcan. But getting close to his target comes with an appalling condition.
He must ally himself with the evil man, who imprisoned and tortured him in the past.
Secretly joining forces with Richard Black, the maverick heading the British contingent of the joint-agency investigation, they discover a sinister plot which threatens a violent and savage takeover of South Africa’s government.
Suddenly, Vulcan is on the run. What ensues is a deadly game of cat and mouse with only two possible outcomes:
A future dominated by wanton destruction.
Or changing the course of history forever.

Utter disbelief; that's what I felt. Not necessarily at the words of the assessment in front of me, but at the emotions it provoked. Hurt, bewilderment, numbed incredulity at what she'd said and was still saying. The plush interior of the office faded from my mind as I tried to focus on her words.
'Dave, look, there's good action and attention to detail in the manuscript, but some of the critical scenes... will just have to be rewritten.' She shook her head sadly. 'Even though it's just a story -' she made air quotes - 'you're doing your readers a great disservice.'
I eventually found my tongue. 'So, Miriam, you're saying the book lacks credibility.'
'Exactly.'
Jesus! I'd spent fifteen months writing the so-called novel, only to get it blasted down in a shower of flames. And after all I'd been through, I never thought for a minute that her words could evoke such a flood of emotion. Was a literary agent the right way to go, I had to ask myself?
She was speaking again. 'Look, Dave, I'm not saying it won't find a publisher, but it needs an awful lot of rewriting and tightening. You've got a talent, most of the manuscript proves that, but why not use it for something that's, say, a little less dramatic? Plausible, even.'
I stood up without another word and stripped off my suit jacket and tie. It was obviously the last thing she expected. She began to protest when I started to undo the buttons on my shirt.
'Honestly, Dave, I really think that... oh my god!' she gasped, looking at my chest.
She stared, dumbfounded, as I re-buttoned my shirt. I'd done up the last button when it finally sank in. This was the first time I'd heard her lost for words.
'You mean it's... those scars... the manuscript is... Oh god. It really happened. It's not fiction at all.' she stammered.
I shrugged. 'Miriam, I never said it was. Perhaps you should read it again.'
'Yes. Yes, I think I will.'
She looked down at the title page on the desk in front of her. It read: SCARS OF THE LEOPARD.
Most characters depicted during this text are imaginary and bear no resemblance to any known, living persons. Also, the establishments of de Lout Investments and Network have no known equivalents in real life anywhere in the world. However, as a number of the events portrayed in this book actually happened, the main characters' names have been changed to protect their identity. Also, inasmuch as research for the book would allow, certain world events described throughout the book actually took place. Scars of the Leopard is a blend of fact and fiction. Which is which? You decide.
