About the Author
Marjorie Thompson is senior faculty at Pacific Northwest Ballet School where she teaches both in the school and for the company.
Before turning sixteen, George Balanchine asked Ms. Thompson to join his New York City Ballet Company. Marjorie had the great privilege of performing in Stars and Stripes for JFK at his 1st inaugural anniversary. She performed in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the opening of the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center. In addition to performing in the premieres of numerous ballets, Marjorie danced on tour in the US and Europe, and in the televised broadcasts of The Four Temperaments and the film version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Marjorie has taught for numerous companies and schools and has produced two videos for PNB: danceWORKS! and Patricia Barker on Pointe Shoes.
This is her first book.
