Beyond the Edge of Dawn is the 3nd volume in the stand alone series the Histories of Malweir and a companion to the popular Northern Crusade.
How far would you go to save a kingdom and stop the dark gods from returning?
Homeless. Despised. They walk the lands in search of menial work just to survive. For the once proud sons of Gaimos have fallen far. Acclaimed as the greatest warriors in the world, those few who survived the purge are shadows of what once was.
Kavan , a feared and venerated Vengeance Knight, is one of the last sons born before the Fall. He roams the lands of Malweir in search of heroic deeds, but when he is summoned to the kingdom of Aradain he discovers a world he is unprepared for. Werebeasts are attacking the countryside, killing all in their paths. To stop them, Kavan must assemble a handful of fellow Knights. Even then he knows it might not be enough, for a plot to return the dark gods to their thrones threatens all life.
You’ve read Rings, Malazan, Thrones, Wheel, Stormlight. Now is the rise of the Knights.
Journey back deep into the history of Malweir and join the ultimate battle against evil.
Do you have what it takes to become a Vengeance Knight?

Christian W. Freed was born in Buffalo, N.Y. more years ago than he would like to remember. After spending more than 20 years in the active-duty US Army he has turned his talents to writing. Since retiring, he has gone on to publish over 25 military fantasy and science fiction novels, as well as his memoirs from his time in Iraq and Afghanistan, a children's book, and a pair of how to books focused on indie authors and the decision making process for writing a book and what happens after it is published. His first published book (Hammers in the Wind) has been the #1 free book on Kindle 4 times and he holds a fancy certificate from the L Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest. Ok, so it was for 4th place in one quarter, but it's still recognition from the largest fiction writing contest in the world. And no, he's not a scientologist. Passionate about history, he combines his knowledge of the past with modern military tactics to create an engaging, quasi-realistic world for the readers. He graduated from Campbell University with a degree in history and a Masters of Arts degree in Digital Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He currently lives outside of Raleigh, N.C. and devotes his time to writing, his family, and their two Bernese Mountain Dogs. If you drive by you might just find him on the porch with a cigar in one hand and a pen in the other. Buch. Etat : Neu. Neuware - The Knights of Gaimos are legendary, renown to be the best warriors in the world. Their kingdom was once among the most revered the world over. Now Gaimos is destroyed. Its people scattered across every kingdom. Kavan was one of the last sons to be born into Gaimosian society before the fall. Kingdomless, he does what every good Knight was made for: he roams Malweir in search of the perfect battle. What he finds, in the dead of winter in the kingdom of Aradain, goes beyond any expectation. Werebeasts and agents of evil lurk in the shadows, quickly preparing the land for the return of the dark gods. For Kavan, it will be a struggle just to stay alive.Half the world away, Pirneon, the former Knight Marshal of Gaimos, lacks the sense of purpose that once guided his life. Pirneon views the world march by at swift pace as his own blood-kin slowly fade into the obscure pages of history. Pirneon will do anything to reclaim his position and the glory of his fallen kingdom. He, above all others, secretly covets the title by which the rest of Malweir knows them: Vengeance Knights. This third installment to the Histories of Malweir saga stretches back to the time before the creation of the Mages. Where the world was still wild and dangerous. Monsters and villains strain to open the paths between dimensions and return the dark gods to rule. Only a handful of brave men and women stand in the way. Journey back to the time following the fall of Gaimos and bear witness to the remnants of a military society struggle to retain identity and roam the world over on a quest for righteousness and, perhaps most of all, vengeance.
