Synopsis

Meet Frankie & discover what happens next for Kylie and Joey.

Thirteen-year-old Frankie is great at pitching baseballs, but not so great at getting along with other kids or handling her anxiety. After one of the most humiliating days of her life in Nashville, Frankie moves to Montana determined to keep to herself, hide her secret, and avoid anything that might trigger the panic she works so hard to control. Homeschooling, preparing for her baby brother’s arrival, and dodging her grandma’s sharp comments feel safer than trying to make friends. But everything changes the day she throws her “last pitch ever” into the woods and meets a mystery horse with an unusual talent—and a boy named Joey who isn’t nearly as scary as everyone else.

Joey introduces Frankie to Kylie and Olivia, and for the first time in a long time, Frankie feels like she might belong somewhere. The girls talk about horses, art camp, and building a therapeutic ranch called The Captain’s Quarters. They even share their own struggles, which makes Frankie wonder if she isn’t as “weird” as she thought. But as her friendships deepen and her bond with the horse she names Fetch grows stronger, Frankie’s anxiety starts to unravel everything she’s built. Mistakes pile up, secrets press in, and Frankie wants to run back into the safety of being alone. If she can’t face what happened in Nashville and trust the people who care about her, she might lose her new friends, her confidence, and the horse who helped her feel some bravery in the first place.
