Dr. A. Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, IPS, is a distinguished police leader, scholar, and United Nations peacekeeper, currently serving as Director General of Police, CID, Andhra Pradesh. A former medical doctor (MBBS, JIPMER), he joined the Indian Police Service in 1994, bringing a rare blend of medical insight and strategic acumen to law enforcement.Over his three-decade career, he has led counter-extremism operations, reformed urban policing in Visakhapatnam, and contributed to UN peacekeeping in Kosovo. His leadership has earned him the President's Police Medal for Gallantry, the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service, and other accolades.
