As I started reading Removing Interference, I realized that Courtenay's work was what I needed in my life. So often, I get pulled in different directions, and remaining who I was became challenging. Her poetry brought me to a time when I approached life with wonder because there was less, by less - I mean less worry, stress, and anxiety about things I could not control. As I moved through her work, I found a sense of calm or an oasis - if you will - in the desert of life: A place where I could renew my spirit to face life's challenges. I hope you can take some time, fill your coffee cup, and read in a way that makes From Words of Life more than a tagline. She has written from her life experiences and has brought them into our lives in ways few others could. Thank you, Courtenay, for this honor.

Courtenay's poetry shows us who she was, is, and is becoming with words that subtly weave themselves around the reader. Her collection is poignant and intimate while, "Playing a song from memory / Making music without sound.../To grow the blooms of dreams."

Courtenay's book will entreat you to a literary journey evoking and unraveling a wide spectrum of emotions essential to living a full life. Some poems are lighthearted. Sometimes they express the sweet tenderness for another. Perhaps it is a distant dream of a delightful past that is impossible to forget or expressing a heart break over someone who moved on without you. Travel on the wavelength she created with her poetry because it is a splendid ride, an essential ride. You will enjoy it.
