Synopsis

Read the inspiring true story of how Kirill Kaprizov became a star hockey player for the Minnesota Wild.

Kirill Kaprizov dreamed of playing in the National Hockey League (NHL). But since he lived in a small village in Russia, that dream seemed unlikely to come true. His family had to drive him 35 miles just so he could practice and play.

Nevertheless, Kirill thrived in his favorite sport. He impressed the coaches with his speed and ability to score. He found success in the Junior Hockey League, and he became a standout in the professional Kontinental Hockey League. Kirill even scored the winning goal to help his team earn a Gold Medal in the 2018 Olympics. However, to find a place in the NHL, it would take a chance encounter and a lucky break.

Written by Chad Israelson, with illustrations by Phil Juliano, this picture book tells the story of Kirill's surprising rise to stardom. Many people doubted him, but Kirill proved that anything is possible with hard work and determination. This inspiring Kirill Kaprizov book is perfect for children.
