Michael R. Fisher Jr., PhD, is an assistant professor in the political economy of race/racism in the department of African American and African Studies and a faculty affiliate at the Center for the Study of Religion at The Ohio State University. He is also a research fellow at the Institute for Gender Studies at the University of South Africa and a 2023–24 Public Fellow at the Public Religion Research Institute. Trained as an interdisciplinary scholar, he specializes in race, public policy, and socioeconomic inequality, and Black religion and cultural studies.
