Synopsis

Feya hates mutants.

They killed her family. They burned her village. But when a mutant war party leaves behind the newborn runt of their litter, Feya must choose between letting it die or following her maternal instinct to save it.

Centuries after nuclear fire scorched the Earth and turned it to dust, humanity clings to survival in the barren outlands of what was once Arizona. Sixty-three-year-old Feya lives a quiet life filled with routine, hard work, and a bitter hatred for the mutant race known as the Ashkin.

Now hunted by humans and hated by Ashkin, Feya must navigate a hostile wasteland with a child the world sees as an abomination, and confront everything she thought she knew about blood, hate, and what it means to be a mother.
