Synopsis

Mr. Magic of Dragons Keep is a middle grade fantasy novel with full color watercolor illustrations. Our story follows the adventures of an orphan cat who is rescued by Alma, the owner of a vintage bookstore called Dragon's Keep in northern England. She names him Mr. Magic when she discovers his broken leg magically healed the day after she finds him.
What she doesn't know is that he was visited overnight by the spirit of a cat Goddess named Kella who not only healed him, but gifted him with special powers and told him of a special mission for which he was destined

The following night, Mr. Magic discovers a book called The Wonders of Ancient Egypt laying open on the floor at the back of the store. As he looks at the pictures, the words suddenly begin calling out to him and he discovers he has been given the power to read. Alma discovers him perusing the book and she hastily returns it to its place high on the shelves.

Enlisting the help of a sassy spider named Sophie who lives in the shelves, an eye-patch wearing terrier named Capt. Murphy, and a family of French mice who live in the walls of the store, Mr. Magic is able to retrieve the book. This time, as he begins to read, he is magically transported into the book itself, and he wakes up on a boat in the harbor of ancient Alexadria, circa 300 BC.
