History sleeps beneath them all, and she will wake it.
Lafayette Eloi used to live the life of an ordinary girl in an ordinary village. But she left that life behind to follow her father on his quest to uncover their planet’s past. Namely, the remains of a crashed starship that proved none of them belonged on this world.
His quest ended with him trapped on a spaceship in orbit around their world. But her path carried her on, across bandit-ridden grasslands to the capital city in search of a second crashed ship. Only nothing in the capital was as it seemed, and she was nearly ensnared in political intrigue she scarcely understood when her quest came to the attention of the mysterious governmental forces known only as Central Planning.
Then her path took her to the top of the world, to a polar ice floe that hid the remains of a third ship, perfectly preserved in the ice. But the too-sudden arrival of Central Planning airships cut short her time on that ship, and she and her friends barely escaped with their lives.
They are free once more, riding the winds in a stolen airship. But her quest has barely begun. Because at the end of this airship journey, she hopes to find the remains of a fourth ship. Only this one will be the hardest to reach of all.
Because it lies on the bottom of the ocean.
