Deane Waldman, MD MBA, is a clinical physician and healthcare policy advocate, along with Dr. Ginn, established We-the-Patients.org to implement the Empower Patients Initiative and return U.S. healthcare to its primary purpose: caring for patients. "Dr. Deane," as his small patients called him, was a pediatric cardiologist for 40+ years, Chief of Section at San Diego Children's Hospital, University of Chicago, and University of New Mexico. He was educated and trained at Yale (BA, History), Chicago Medical School (MD), Northwestern, Harvard, and Anderson Graduate Schools (MBA). He is Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics, Pathology, and Decision Science at the University of New Mexico. Retired now to focus exclusively on empowering patients, his former positions included Director of Center for Healthcare Policy at Texas Public Policy Foundation, Chairman of Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico, and Director on the Board of New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange. In addition to co-authoring with Dr. Ginn the Empower Patients Initiative released by Americans for Tax Reform and the book, "Empower PATIENTS-Two Doctors' Cure for Healthcare," Dr. Deane has published 13 other books, as well as more than 450 articles and monographs. Together, Drs. Waldman and Ginn have organized wethepatientsUSA.org.

Vance Ginn, Ph.D., (hard "G," like "again") is president of Ginn Economic Consulting and former chief economist of the Office of Management and Budget during the first Trump administration. He is a nationally recognized economist and dedicated advocate for free-market efforts that promote economic growth, opportunity, and fiscal responsibility. Frequently featured in major outlets such as Fox Business and The Wall Street Journal, Dr. Ginn's insights translate complex economic topics into simple, actionable paths. Vance began collaborating with Dr. Deane on healthcare policy ten years ago when they were both Directors of their respective sections at the Texas Public Policy Foundation. He adds the key monetary element to the success of the Empower Patients Initiative. Together, Drs. Ginn and Waldman have organized wethepatientsUSA.org.
