When sixteen-year-old Kaela accidentally bonds with a demon instead of a Guardian spirit, her life goes up in literal flames. Banished from the shining city of Calyss and branded corrupted, she must survive the monster-filled Wilds with only her quick wit, raw magic, and her new partner—Ashfang, a sarcastic ancient demon with a tragic past and zero respect for authority.
