Sam Wages Johnson. Born and raised in Lawrenceville, GA. Grew up in his family's funeral business. Ten year drug addict with opiates/heroin/painkillers. Has lost over 25 friends to addiction. What separates me from other addicts is that once fentanyl started killing my friends, I would work their funerals. I would get high with them and then a week later I would be helping lower their casket into the ground. Seeing the pain and agony on the faces of their families, it had a profound effect on me. As time went on, my addiction got worse to the point that I almost lost my arm to amputation due to the fact I was using dirty needles. I actually used the same dirty needle that caused my abscess to pop my abscess. And that still did not stop me. Even after I overdosed in my friend's car I still did not stop. I knew that I had to make a change or I would be the next one to die. My family finally put their foot down and were done with me. The pain that I saw over and over on my friend's family's faces is something that always stuck with me. I decided on October 4, 2015 that I was going to change my life around or I was going to die trying. This book is a way for me to give back. To use what was once meant to destroy me to now help people in the same situation I was once in. We are all on the same road to recovery, some are just a little further down that others.
