Angela Letoi is a Nooksack tribal member. At 38 years old, Angela's grandmother, Velma Cooper from Sts'ailes, BC, told her she was going to get up and tell a story at The Festival of the River. And she did. Over time, Angela fell in love with storytelling and was gifted with many stories and learned to make them her own. Angela also works as a caregiver for dementia and end of life clients, a job that fills her cup and allows her to hear incredible stories and learn from her elders. She lives in the land of the Coast Salish with her soulmate, Tulaga, and is a mother and grandmother.
Dionisio "Nish" Romero is from the Nooksack Indian Tribe in Washington state. He lives with his family on their land that has been passed down. He is a young aspiring artist being mentored by Jonas Jones and Ray Natraoro in the Coast Salish art form. He specializes in traditional Coast Salish Wood Carving. He has carved several portrait masks and panels. He also has hands on experience working on large scale projects such as welcome figures and house posts with Jonas Jones and Ray Natraoro. He strives to see Coast Salish art represented in its traditional territories. He is eager and passionate to build his career and set a path for himself and future generations to come.
