James Machell is a British speculative fiction and non-fiction writer. Born in London, he holds an MSc from The University of Edinburgh. His fiction, often blending SF with horror, has appeared in MetaStellar, Simultaneous Times, and Sci Phi Journal. James contributes to The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction and serves as the outreach manager for Utopia Science Fiction Magazine, for which he interviewed many of the authors and artists who appear in this collection. He was also the contest chair for the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association, his own poetry having appeared in SpecPoVerse, Star*Line, and The Edinburgh Creative Review.
