Synopsis

Continuing headlong into the troubles from the first two books in the Scott’s Tulsa series (SCOTT’S TULSA III – Past, Present, & Murder), does not relent in its burdens for Wyatt Scott. Old questions and anxieties come to the fore, while new dilemmas, murders, and conspiracies mount. The murky communist plot breaks into the open, threatening more than Wyatt’s life.

The draught and burning summer of 1948 do not abate, even as Wyatt’s unresolved Alaskan mystery melts away. It surfaces in Tulsa, but first he must deal with a deranged child-killer who dresses and poses the young victims like dolls. Two dead, more kidnapped, Scott runs where the police do not.

The revelation about Alaska shocks and angers Scott before becoming more personal and immediate. While it clears that mystery, it presents dramatic new dangers after the Soviet scheme evolves into a sinister plot with international ramifications. More murders ensue during Scott’s search for the Russian spies, culminating in a desperate campaign to stop an assassination.
