An immigrant from the Caribbean in 1970, Reverend Brenda Berry began a teaching career at the elementary level, then continued training as a high school English teacher by attending Brooklyn College while working at the NY Telephone Company. She stayed with this Fortune 500 Company for twenty-three years, advancing from clerical levels to project management. She later responded to the call to ministry and attended the New Brunswick Seminary, graduating with honors in 1999. After many family and employment struggles, she was called to serve the University Heights Presbyterian Church in the Bronx, NY, where she served for eighteen years and was a member of the community on the NWCCC Board. She led major structural and spiritual restorative projects and was recognized by the "Trademark Who's Who" 2015 Honors Edition for professional excellence. On November 30, 2019, Rev. Berry retires honorably from official ministry at the University Heights Presbyterian Church of the NYC Presbytery.She has been blessed with two sons and three grandchildren, including twins. They bring her great joy!
