The Detective's Quota Part III, By a Brother's Hand, is a murder mystery involving the death of Sheila Randall, who is the daughter of a prominent Chicago politician, Senator Randall. On the night of Sheila's murder, the family was awakened by her cries, only to find her stabbed to death. Given the importance of the case, the Chicago Police Department asked retired detective Vincent Chang, then living in Florida, to return to Chicago to head up the investigation. Chang was reluctant. He had started a romance with 24-year-old woman named Torrie Buono and did not wish to be separate from her. Chang eventually accepted the assignment, returned to Chicago, conducted his investigation, and learned that the offender who took Sheila's life was her brother.

DAVID CUOMO is a lifelong Chicagoan. He graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 1983 and then began a twenty-year career as a trial lawyer, first as a prosecutor in the Cook County States Attorney's Office and then as a private defense counsel. Since leaving his legal career Mr. Cuomo has turned to writing novels, all of which were inspired by real cases he had tried as an Assistant States Attorney. To date, he has authored and published "The Detective's Quota" and "The Case of the Killer Priest". Mr. Cuomo is presently working on two additional manuscripts which like his published books find their origin in his Assistant States Attorney career.
