Synopsis

This is a book designed for Christian leaders or for anyone who wishes to learn and apply biblical principles of leadership. The book takes the form of ‘Little Bites’ that provide bible based nuggets of leadership wisdom in an easily digestible form. These Little Bites are the product of the author’s experience of Church leadership that spans some 25 years and his worldly career which includes 30 years as a university professor of management and various university leadership roles up to and including the level of Provost. The book contains five sections. The opening section is called The Perspective, which all about developing a mindset that is essential for effective Christian leadership. The second section entitled the Practice draws primarily on the author’s own experience of Christian leadership. The third section called The Prophets, a collective term to describe major characters in the Bible, aims to elicit principles of Christian leadership from their behaviour and actions. The fourth section has the unusual title of the Professors and examine what the academic world has to offer in terms of leadership theories and principles applicable to Christian leadership. The final section, entitled The Projection surveys the various writings on leadership, many produced by business leaders and consultants, which project what they consider to be the essential leadership principles for successful leadership in the 21st Century.
