Synopsis

Jesus, towards the end of His ministry, knowing the task ahead for the continuity and expansion of the kingdom he brought began to let the disciples know that they will require another comforter or helper. “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. John 14: 15-18 The Holy Spirit, Jesus said, will stay with you forever, meaning that I long as you are on the earth, you need him. The same says, he will reveal the truth about God, in other words, certain things you do not know about God will be made know to you as you work with the Holy Spirit. Finally the scripture also states that the Holy Spirit will play the role parents to you - I will not leave you orphans. This is huge. It behooves on us to find out who this Holy Spirit is, his operations and how we can work with him. Notice the above scripture also says, he is not for all but for specific persons.
