NADEZHDA ILIEVA is a writer, artist and filmmaker. In 2016, she created a word press account, building a platform from which she could share her stories with the world. With her almost self contradictory moral doctrine, dual disposition and volatile temperament, Nadezhda invites the reader into the world of the grapevines, an amalgamation of sharp witted and thought provoking stories. The Grapevines is a collection of allegorical poems, short narratives and apologues serving as an emblem of adolescence, ingeniously depicting the struggles of the New Age generations. With its vividly elaborate and meticulous use of language the author takes us on a journey in search of answers to the meaning of existence, one’s purpose and our quest for knowledge and understanding of higher power. The writer uses characters, plants, animals and objects as means to portray emotion, moral doctrine, unravelling veiled truths whilst plunging into a world of deception and delusion reaching heights of deeper consciousness where the line between right and wrong become blurred under the weight of human sorrow. The quest for higher truth and the never ending debate of moral reverberates in the fight between good and evil. Duality is a reoccurring theme throughout the book as the female character struggles to deal with the complexity of life and all of the chameleon mosaic of personalities she goes through as she enters into adulthood, balancing the temptations of life. Pleasure, the material, love, desire, purpose and moral, stretching the very limits of her own comprehensions, truths, sanity and consciousness, pushing towards an abyss where even the impossible seems possible, with a price.
