Dr. Kurien completed his studies at the University of Madras, India. Currently, he works as Professor of Research at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City. His research interests include the study of free radical-mediated oxidative damage in systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren's syndrome, as well as the role of the nutraceutical curcumin in autoimmune diseases. His publication record includes numerous scientific publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he has published a Christian fiction, "One Tempting Test" and edited six volumes in the Methods in Molecular Biology series. God blessed him and his wife Jolly Kurien with children Jobin, Johann, Jasmin, Bianca, and a dog named Shadow. His mother Annamma Kurian stays with them, while his father, T. V. Kurien, passed away in 2006 to be with his Savior Lord Jesus Christ.
