Beyond the Window is the story of Wyatt Park Christian Church, a faith community in the historic city of St. Joseph, Missouri. Since 1888, the congregation has touched hundreds of people each week. While this could be the story of any mid-sized Christian congregation, it is also the story of a particular congregation in a particular place and time, so its story is also unique. Dominating the church building is the “Creation Window,” a forty foot high work of art to the glory of God. Passersby likely see the sanctuary and wonder what goes on inside, “beyond the window.” Church members and visitors gather in the sanctuary to worship and be spiritually fed for another week of life outside, “beyond the window.” And, by design, the Creation Window points “beyond the window,” to God who created heaven and earth. In chapters that describe worship, education, fellowship, missions, and more, you will meet a Christ centered faith community with a rich history and a hope-filled future.
