Steve Demaree is someone who came to the author profession late in life. He was fifty when he began writing his first book. But he made up for lost time. In July 2017, he completed his twenty-sixth book. Most of his books are whodunits with humor, but he has also written a humorous series about the shenanigans of the neighbors on one street, a devotional book, a biography, and three books of inspirational short stories. None of his books contain any profanity, sex, or gore, so while they are written for adults, they can be read by anyone. He continues to write a couple of books each year so he won't become homeless. In other words, he doesn't want the wife who has stuck with him since 1969 to kick him out of the house.
