Alvin Plexico, Ph.D. Commander, U.S. Navy (Retired) As a lifelong learner, Dr. Plexico enjoys teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in communication, crisis management, ethics, leadership, management, organizational behavior, organizational development and change, public speaking, qualitative research, social media, and strategy. A 22-year Navy career included service as a Pentagon Press Officer, a Spokesperson for the U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Director of Communication of the Center for Career Development. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, a Master’s Degree in Communication, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership. Alvin and his wife of 30 years, Lucinda, currently live near Memphis, Tennessee. Their youngest daughter, Savannah, serves others as a social worker and their oldest daughter, Shiloh, serves in the Air Force. Alvin enjoys reading, running, and following Texas Rangers baseball. He’s creatively found ways to do two of these at the same time, but has yet to discover a way to do all three. In an attempt to diversify his physical activities, he races in triathlons, with the ultimate goal of completing an Ironman.
