Diane Pascoe was at the supermarket checkout counter when Norman—a clerk so fidgety that he was probably resisting the urge to scratch himself—casually mentioned the savings she’d earned with her senior discount. There just was one teensy problem: Diane hadn’t revealed her age or asked for a senior discount. Norman-with-an-itch had guessed her age and decided she was…what? Sixty? A hundred and two?
The brutally honest teenager who forced Diane to face her wrinkles is just one of many sources of inspiration for her candid collection of hilarious personal essays. Brimming with humor and wit, Life Isn’t Perfect, but My Lipstick Is collects the mental musings of a wife, mother, and (sometimes) gracefully aging woman. From Diane’s lipstick addiction to that one time in kindergarten when she was fired from her job as rhythm-band conductor, no topic is off limits.
Discover how mustard cures leg cramps but crushes intimacy. Experience the addictive thrill of entering a contest and almost tasting victory. Learn the usefulness of taping one’s mouth to avoid snacking while baking. Diane’s stories offer insights and truths that women of any age will find familiar and funny.Les informations fournies dans la section « Synopsis » peuvent faire référence à une autre édition de ce titre.
Diane Pascoe has a BA in psychology and an MBA. She worked in human resources for many years while writing her hilarious reflections on everyday life for this funny memoir. In addition to winning numerous prizes in writing contests, Diane’s humorous essays are regularly featured in local publications.
She lives in North Carolina with her husband, Eric (also known in these stories as “Honey” and “Love God”), and their two dogs. Their four grown children in their blended family are scattered throughout the United States and Canada.
When Diane isn’t writing, she’s managing her lipstick addiction—for which, thankfully, there is no cure. Her favorite shade is Hot Coral #712.
