According to the IFSW General Meeting and the IASSW General Assembly in July 2014, social work promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment of people through considering social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversities as central principles. In educating social work, it is important to consider the combination of theories and practices. Social work practice requires the application of theoretically grounded assessment processes and interventions. That is because theories and research can offer explanatory accounts of human growth, development and behaviour, individually and in social settings. It can be argued that social work profession has been developed for example, professional social work exists in 94 countries. The development is not only in expanding the spatial areas, but new fields, theories, and methods have been emerged.
