HAROLD JULES MARGOLIS was born in 1933 and raised in Los Angeles. He earned his PhD from the University of Southern California in 1971. He served as a clinical psychologist in the army reserves and the Los Angeles City School District, operated a flying service at Van Nuys Airport and has published articles and books on both psychology and long distance hiking.
