Carla Victoria Wallace grew up an avid reader, who wrote her first poem at the age of ten, and a short story series at the age of eleven. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Connecticut where she majored in Elementary Education with a concentration in English. While in college, she wrote a children’s book and numerous essays under her professors’ guidance. Her writing ability became evident and noticed as one professor described her writing as “powerful”, and told her “You have talent!” Upon college graduation, she accepted a position as an elementary school teacher, and became a teacher by day and an author by night. Her first novel was published in 2010. Following its publication, she made an appearance on the News Channel 8 Connecticut Style talk show. She was invited to various school and church Career Days in which she shared her experience as an author, and gave guidance to youth who have an interest in writing themselves. In 2012, Carla Victoria completed her second novel, and then took a writing hiatus to prepare for the birth of her and her husband’s first child. She gave birth to a baby girl in July 2013, and spent the next year adjusting to being a new mother. In 2015, Carla Victoria was accepted as an author on the Peace in the Storm Publishing team. In addition to being a teacher and author, she has served on a Connecticut chapter of the NAACP Education Committee, which works to bridge the education gaps in the community through extra-curricular learning opportunities for youth. In December 2015, she welcomed twin baby girls into her family. She resides in Connecticut with her husband and three daughters.
