Synopsis

Poems of love and loss, happiness and hurt, sadness and gratitude, social commentary, and more can be found in 'Fás | Growth', Scott De Buitléir's début collection of poetry written in both Irish and English. This collection covers ten years of poetry, written wherever he has found himself – Dublin, Belfast, Portugal, Manchester, and Nottingham. Far from traditional or rural-focused writing, De Buitléir's Irish-language poetry is crafted from the urban perspective of a young gay Dubliner, while his poetry in English adds to the lyrical nature of Irish literature. The collection also includes a foreword by blogger and academic writer, Siún Ní Dhuinn, as well as a note by editor Marian Butler. Overall, the reader is likely to be surprised and delighted by this noteworthy collection from Scott De Buitléir.
