Synopsis

Imagine a world where resources are depleted. The sky is concentrated with smog, and the ground is blanketed in concrete. This is Pangaea, a futuristic, politically unified Earth. However, instead of your typical courageous, romantic hero, you are left with Aspen W6673, a resident of Region W, family 6673. Aspen doesn't really care that the world is ending. Consumed by her own selfish goals of bettering herself, she holds no special place in her heart for trees or the mythological blue that supposedly hides behind the clouds. Aspen’s neighbor, Sal, is no ordinary human. He is a Natural Born, an Experimental. Unlike most of Pangaea’s citizens (who were created in the Lab), he was conceived the natural way. Sal struggles to survive in a society whose structure is based on cold, harsh logic. When faced with imminent doom, will Sal be able to rely on Aspen’s friendship? Or will he find himself fighting his battles alone? (Young Adult Fiction novella, approx. 110 pages)
