One of the tragedies of life is not really knowing much about your parents. I'm glad I don't have that problem. This book is an attempt to let the readers know what I know about the ministries of Raymond and Winona Riggs. I was raised in a preacher's home. I know what it is to be labeled a "PK," or "preacher's kid." I know what it is to be compared to your parents. I've heard the comments like, ''You look just like your mother," or ''You're going to be a preacher just like your daddy." I came through a period of life when my parents always overshadowed my own identity. I know what it is to be introduced as Raymond and Winona's boy. For a time that bothered me, but today there is no greater joy. I'm proud to be Raymond and Winona's boy. As a teacher learns more than his students, so I have learned more about my parents through the privilege of writing this book. Actually, I didn't write it. I transcribed it. Daddy put his thoughts on cassette tapes, and I've simply put them down on paper. He gave me the liberty to edit and change what may have been needed for clarity, but other than that this is his story in his words.
