After many years of writing poetry, short stories and film scripts in many genres - including Sci-Fi - retirement finally gave me the time to follow my inclination and to write those first novels. Like many before me I had un-named and unfinished piles of writings that, in film parlance, ended up on my editing room floor. They would never see the light of any day given their limitations. However sometimes a little success came my way with competition wins, being read on ABC National Radio and an added thrill of a short animated film, The Long Beach, which I wrote was made and shown in film festivals all over the world. My previous working and general life experiences include a degree in Social Work; work in the prison system, the Criminal Court, housing, domestic violence and general counselling areas. On the medical side I’ve been a nurse, a St John Ambulance officer ‘on the cars’ and as an Air Attendant, instructed with the Royal Life Saving Society, and taught children to swim over many years. Study in diverse areas included archaeology and history have coupled with travel and life as a wife and mother have all given me arenas to stretch my writing wings. I write about places I know - except in Sci-Fi where the Universe is hardly enough in space and time - and the Australian landscape, flora and fauna, is where I belong.
