Al-Khwarizmi developed the Arabic numerals, based on the Hindu-Arabic numeral system and Indian mathematics. The Western world adopted his numeral system. The term "algorithm" is the invention of Khwarizmi. Algorithm defines the steps for calculation for the solution of a problem.
