Synopsis
On his return from the Nile, Courtenay takles part in the invasion of Menorca and the is ordered home where four things happen. He is promoted to Post-Captain, given a Baronetcy, marries Jessica and is given command of a powerful 74 gun ship of the line. He is then sent to the West Indies under the command of his nemesis, Vice-admiral Spencer-Davis, to put down a slave rebellion, but it soon turns into a lot more than that. He also learns that his former command, the frigate Aphrodite, has been taken by mutiny and sailed to a port on the Spanish Main, so he hatches a plan to cut his old ship out and return her to the Fleet. In the meantime there is a daring rescue of some French Aristos and broadside battles with the French.
