Synopsis

Lieutenant Major John Harris was one of the most senior officers on an international data and archive planet called Astor. He had spent months in a trauma rehabilitation centre after a harrowing experience on the space ship Eller Rose. After that he turned his back on space content to have a ground job at something he was good at and enjoyed. All he wanted was a quiet life but sometimes fate has other plans. Thus it was that the hand of fate decided to settle down on John Harris.It started with a red flashing mail icon on his computer screen. It simply read “ Messenger arriving.” With that simple message began an adventure Lieutenant Major John Harris could have never imagined in his wildest dreams, or for that matter, his worst nightmares.Like life everywhere it is all to do with money and power. So when a large planet was found in just the right place to act as an interstellar servicing station between the old empire and the new developing worlds, the fortunes of the old empire were looking good. The planet was rapidly colonised and plundered for minerals and gasses. As it turned out plundered a little too far and the planet suddenly exploded. The economic collapse of both parts of the empire were imminent. Another servicing planet had to be found and fast but that wouild not be easy. The problem was a large section of space between the old empire and the new frontier was a barren area of stellar debris which had never been properly surveyed. It could take decades to find a new servicing planet and set it up as a staging depot. While hope and economics was slowly beginning to fade for the old and new planets there came a whisper in the background of the subspace net. It was coming form the centre of the old empire. One ray of hope was being whispered softly. If you listened very carefully you could just hear faintly the phrase “ Light Star”
