Johnny does it all. He works three jobs, including Tennessee tax auditor during the day, CPA tax professional at night, and Security Officer on weekends at a high-tech computer data storage site in Pennsylvania…hence the Server Rooms. He’s gotta work these hours to pay off his debts. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have fun. He is friends with a girl who might want more, and he gets his other friends and their friends out of hot water with the law. And on weekends as a Security Officer, he manages to keep his corner of the world safe from terrorists, industrial spies and cyber- saboteurs in a post-911 world. But he also has heart for his fellow security officers, among them a mother with a toddler at home, who work under a tyrant for a boss for minimum pay and little chance for raises. With his connections, and with the help of a benefactor he met, he unionizes the guards at the site and elsewhere, and he uses leverage to get the bosses to go along, . And at the end of the day he contemplates life under the influence of Jack Daniels and wonders what he's done right and wrong all these years. Anyone who has a sense of responsibility, a good work ethic, who appreciates a good relationship and who likes a good story about working class people who make a life for themselves in a society that seems to think in clicks and nanoseconds in no-man's land, will enjoy this book.
