Synopsis

STORY TAGLINE: “That the Weak May Live” BOOK DESCRIPTION: “In Defense of Freedom: A Collection of Laconic Medieval Pre-Battle War Stories” is a simple, swift-paced, smooth-flowing picture storybook that combines the craft of storytelling with engaging, impressionist illustrations. “In Defense of Freedom” is comprised of three imaginary, fictitious, mythical tales based upon a common pre-battle storyline with a variety of characters in a medieval setting, to include: (1) “Phantoms through the Mist”, (2) “That the Weak May Live!”, and (3) “Victory is Ours!” This short anthology of medieval stories will be appreciated by new adult and older adult audiences. Written from a first-person point of view, each story is communicated to the reader in a close, personal way. The vicarious, imagined participation by the reader makes the thematic significance of these stories self-evident by connecting ‘love of country’ with ‘love of fellow countrymen’ and the duty-bound commitment to defend their God-given gift of freedom. Colorfully-illustrated and thoughtfully-written, the stories contained in this inspiring storybook are comprised of 35 pages of striking, specifically-sequenced pictures with an accompanying story narrative. These stimulating medieval tales are inspired by the full-length story told in the epic medieval fantasy novel book series entitled “The Wolves of Trisidian” by Adrian Robbe. “In Defense of Freedom” emphasizes virtuous themes of duty, honor, and defense of one’s country. This collection of short, laconic medieval pre-battle war stories is presented as Volume 1 of the “Medieval Anthology Picture Book Series.” These captivating medieval tales promise to leave a positive, lasting impression upon every reader.
