Synopsis
A bittersweet tale comprising of love and tragedy with a darkly comical undertone. Widower Geoffrey williams spends his days visiting his elderly father at the nursing home whilst nervously awaiting the release of his eldest son Lloyd from prison, it is during his time at the nursing home that he begins a relationship with a young careworker named Sunshine. Downtrodden Phil Whitechapel lives with his fame hungry wife Cathy, having missed out on the title of Opportunity knocks winner 1974 narrowingly losing to Lena Zavaronni, she has forever sought her second chance of fame whilst ignoring her role as a mother and wife. After a successful audition for a newly commisioned Soap Opera life in the Whitechapel family is about to change forever. David Robinson a BBC comedy script writer for the TV show Scandolmonger currently resides in a psychiatric hospital suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts its while he is residing in the hospital that he falls in love for the first time challenging his sardonic personality. The novel follows the three families as they experience, love, loss and tragedy with an explosive finale.
